Bir şahsın nereli olduğunu sormak için where ….. from kalıbı kullanılır.
Where are you from? Nerelisin?
Where is he from? O nerelidir?
I am from Ankara. Ankaralıyım.
Where kelimesi bağlaç olarak kullanıldığında – ki orada – anlamını verir.
Örnek :
This is the park where we play football. Park budur ki orada futbol oynarız. (Futbol oynadığımız park budur.)
A bedroom is place where we sleep. Yatak odası bir yerdir ki orada uyuruz. (Yatak odası uyuduğumuz bir yerdir.)
