In total, 762 plants and animal species are recorded as extinct. Peaple have caused this process to speed up.
People cause this in different ways. Firstly, they cut rainforests which are their habitat. Because of overpopulation and industrilization, people build houses and factories in the forests.
Mammals, birds , reptiles, insects and fish are dying out because of overhunting. For example, elephants are killed for their tusks for jewellery.
Polluting the air , water and soil also causes some species to die. The waste from factoriea is dumped into rivers. It makes them polluted. The fish that live in the river get poisoned and die. The birds that eat the poisoned fish also die.
Finally, we shouldn’t destroy their habitats , we should prevent overhunting and pollution.
