My father is always in a hurry in the morning. He is a train driver on the London Underground. That’s why he gets up at 4 o’clock to drive the 5 o’clock train to Liverpool Street Station. He only eats some cornflakes with milk and sugar and drinks a cup of tea before he leaves the house.
Mother gets up at 7:20 and prepares the breakfast. We all have a glass of grapefruit juice and cornflakes. Mother and Robert eat bacon and eggs. I only have a cup of tea and a piece of toast with butter and jam.
Father has a long break at 9 o’clock. Then he drinks a cup of tea and eats his sandwiches. I eat lunch in the canteen. I don’t like the food there. It is fish and chips every Friday. Then, I have just an apple or an orange for lunch. When I complain about the food, mother often says: “Laura, I know you’d like to have a steak for lunch in that restaurant near the school but we aren’t millionaires. “At 6 o’clock we all come together at the dinner table. We usually have soup, meat or fish with potatoes and salad or vegetables and fruit for dessert.
