Buna ra\u011fmen, bu devirde \u00e7ok az geli\u015fen bir edeb\u00ee t\u00fcr, ciddi bir tenkit edebiy\u00e2t\u0131&#8217;d\u0131r. O kadar ki bu edebiyat\u0131n kurulu\u015funda hissesi olan kafiye m\u00fcnaka\u015falar\u0131 gibi, edebiyat\u0131n devam\u0131 boyunca bilhassa H\u00fcseyin Cahit taraf\u0131ndan kar\u015f\u0131 tarafa y\u00f6neltilen, \u015fiddetli ve cesur yaz\u0131lar da disiplinli ilmin gerektirdi\u011fi bilgi ve felsefenin d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda yaz\u0131lard\u0131r. Bu arada b\u00e2z\u0131 Servetif\u00fcnuncular\u0131n Bat\u0131 Edebiy\u00e2t\u0131&#8217;na d\u00e2ir bilgiler verme\u011fe \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan \u00e7e\u015fitli makalelerini de meselenin es\u00e2s\u0131n\u0131 kavram\u0131\u015f, kuvvetli birer tenkit yaz\u0131s\u0131 diye kar\u015f\u0131lamak kolay de\u011fildir. <br \/>\nVezinlerin, kafiyelerin ve naz\u0131m \u015fekillerinin \u015fiirdeki tarih\u00ee-m\u00fczikal yeri ve felsefesi, bu m\u00fcnaka\u015falarda belirtilememi\u015ftir. Ya\u015fan\u0131lan devrin bedi\u00ee-i\u00e7tima\u00ee ihtiya\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131 kavrayarak, sanatk\u00e2rlara, bu ihtiya\u00e7lara cevap vermeleri i\u00e7in yol g\u00f6sterebilecek bir edeb\u00ee otorite de devrin tenkit\u00e7ileri aras\u0131nda mevcut de\u011fildir. Esasen, her \u015feye ra\u011fmen taklid\u00ee bir z\u00fcmre edebiyat\u0131 yapmakta olan bir buhran devri edebiyat\u00e7\u0131lar\u0131 aras\u0131ndan b\u00f6yle bir \u015fahsiyet \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131 da beklenilmez.<\/p>\n<p>Bunun d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda, H\u00fcseyin Cahit&#8217;in nispeten daha \u00fcrkek olan \u00eetid\u00e2l taraftarlar\u0131na kar\u015f\u0131 giri\u015fti\u011fi yaz\u0131l\u0131 kavgalar, o devir i\u00e7in olduk\u00e7a faydal\u0131 ve elektrikli bir m\u00fcn\u00e2ka\u015fa havas\u0131 yaratm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Hatta onun kendi arkada\u015flar\u0131n\u0131n ne\u015friyat\u0131 hakk\u0131nda y\u00fcr\u00fctt\u00fc\u011f\u00fc fikirlerle bu fikirleri besleyici mana ta\u015f\u0131yan terc\u00fcme makaleleri, o devrin edeb\u00ee hayat\u0131n\u0131n ve edeb\u00ee k\u0131ymetlerinin geli\u015fmesinde rol oynam\u0131\u015f; Garba d\u00e2ir bilgi ve fikir verici yaz\u0131lar olmu\u015ftur. Fakat Servetif\u00fcnun Edebiyat\u0131&#8217;n\u0131n daha \u00e7ok, Frans\u0131z Edebiyat\u0131 \u00fczerinde ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar yaparak, elde etti\u011fi bilgileri T\u00fcrk Edebiy\u00e2t\u0131&#8217;na tan\u0131tmak yolunda a\u011f\u0131rba\u015fl\u0131 yaz\u0131lar yazansa Ahmed \u015euayb&#8217;d\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Gen\u00e7 say\u0131lacak bir ya\u015fta \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc, T\u00fcrk edebiyat\u0131n\u0131n cidd\u00ee kay\u0131plar\u0131 aras\u0131nda bulunan Ahmed \u015euayib&#8217;in tan\u0131nm\u0131\u015f bir k\u0131s\u0131m Frans\u0131z ve <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Allemande\" rel=\"wikipedia nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Allemande\" target=\"_blank\">Alman<\/a> tarih\u00e7ileri ile Frans\u0131z realizminin en m\u00fchim m\u00fcnekkit ve edipleri hakk\u0131nda ciddi et\u00fctleri olmu\u015ftur. Bu kitaptaki makalelerin Tevfik Fikret&#8217;in te\u015fviki ve \u0131srar\u0131yla, Servetif\u00fcnunda ne\u015frolunmas\u0131 gerek Fikret, gerek Ahmed \u015euayb i\u00e7in k\u0131ymetli birer nottur.<\/p>\n<p>ServetiF\u00fcn\u00fbn y\u0131llar\u0131nda ya m\u00fchim de\u011fer ta\u015f\u0131mayan yahut herhangi bir edeb\u00ee hareket yapamayan, daha birtak\u0131m edebiyat t\u00fcrleriyle de yaz\u0131lar yaz\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bunlar aras\u0131nda hemen b\u00fct\u00fcn Servetif\u00fcnuncularm yazd\u0131klar\u0131 \u00e7e\u015fitli makaleler, \u00f6nde an\u0131labilir.
