Ba\u015fkent 1500&#8217;lere gelindi\u011finde 300.000 ki\u015filik n\u00fcfusa sahip oldu. Ayr\u0131ca d\u00fcnyan\u0131n en b\u00fcy\u00fck piramidi Meksika&#8217;da <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Cholula (Mesoamerican site)\" rel=\"wikipedia nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cholula_%28Mesoamerican_site%29\" target=\"_blank\">Cholula<\/a> de Rivadabia&#8217;da bulunur. Azteklere ait piramit 182.107 metrekare alan \u00fczerine kurulmu\u015ftur ve y\u00fcksekli\u011fi 54 metredir. Hernan Cortes&#8217;in Meksika&#8217;y\u0131 fethi s\u0131ras\u0131nda yap\u0131lan ve Tenochtitlan ku\u015fatmas\u0131 olarak bilinen sava\u015f sonucunda Aztekler yenilmi\u015f ve g\u00fc\u00e7lerini kaybetmi\u015flerdir. 12 milyonluk bir n\u00fcfustan olu\u015fan \u00e7ok b\u00fcy\u00fck ve zengin bir imparatorluk olan Aztekler geli\u015fmi\u015f tar\u0131m y\u00f6ntemlerine, kendilerine ait bir dine, takvime, alfabeye sahiplerdi. Aztekleri ke\u015ffedenler \u0130spanyollar oldu. Aztekler \u00e7ok tanr\u0131l\u0131 bir dine inan\u0131yorlard\u0131. Her tanr\u0131n\u0131n farkl\u0131 g\u00f6revleri vard\u0131. Aztek dininin inan\u00e7lar\u0131na g\u00f6re yap\u0131lmas\u0131 gereken bir\u00e7ok ayin ve t\u00f6ren vard\u0131. Azteklerden kalan baz\u0131 inan\u00e7lar g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde hala kullan\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Aztekler tanr\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131 memnun etmek i\u00e7in kurban keserlerdi. Kurban olacak ki\u015fileri rahipler ta\u015f\u0131rd\u0131.Kurban\u0131n g\u00f6\u011fs\u00fc bir b\u0131\u00e7akla yar\u0131l\u0131r, atmaya devam eden kalp bir kaba yerle\u015ftirilirdi.
